I'm Such a Slacker

I haven't written on here for a long time partly because I've been busy and partly because there's nothing interesting happening in my neck of the woods. I have been keeping busy, despite the well-known fact that I'm a procrastinator when it comes to most anything, writing on here included. Our cabin is ordered and should be here in two weeks. I've been laying drain pipes and water lines to get ready to hook up when it does come. I cut a tree down and stripped the bark off for an electric pole, saving about $200 over what AEP was going to charge - I'm a scrooge, what can I say.
My gardens have tomatoes all over the place, so I've been making spaghetti sauce, salsa and tomato juice about every other night. My jalapenos did pretty good, and the green peppers, but the corn.... well I'll not mention the corn again. I have oodles of watermelons, but it's been so dry that most of them are about the size of softballs. The few that I have harvested have been good though, sweet and juicy with lots of seeds for spittin.
My grandson came Saturday night to stay. It was supposed to be part of the shared custody agreement where my son got to keep him. However, his mother stayed too, and things didn't go quite as planned and she ended up taking him and leaving in the middle of the night. It was nice to spend some time with him though, he's getting so big!
That's about all that's going on right now, nothing out of the ordinary, just taking things as they come.
